Missing a day does no harm. Just carry on the next day, without doubling the dose.

The dose depends on weight alone:

• Under 10 kg: 1 chew
• 10 to 25 kg: 2 chews
• 25 to 50 kg: 3 chews
• Over 50 kg: 4 chews

The active ingredient amounts shown on the tub are for 2 chews, or 5 g. There's no point giving more: anything above that simply passes straight through.

Every need moves at its own pace, and none of them are quick:

• Digestion: first changes often within 1 to 2 weeks
• Skin and coat: 4 to 8 weeks, the length of one coat cycle
• Joint comfort: 6 to 12 weeks

Don't judge it before three months. That's how long a daily supplement needs to really do its work.

The chew is soft, with a natural chicken flavour, on a base of brewer's yeast and chickpea flour. No artificial flavourings, no colourings.

If yours turns his nose up for the first few days, crumble it over his food for a week, then go back to giving it by hand. Nine times out of ten, that's enough.

Active ingredients per 2 chews (5 g)

• Glucosamine HCl 100 mg, flaxseed 100 mg, turmeric 80 mg
• Digestive enzymes 50 mg, FOS 25 mg, inulin 10 mg
• Live cultures (5 strains): 500 million CFU
• Vitamins C, A, D3, E and the whole B group, plus 5 mg of taurine

Ingredients
Brewer's yeast, chickpea, pea and sweet potato flours, yucca extract, coconut glycerine, sunflower lecithin, palm oil, natural chicken flavour.

Before that, a puppy's needs are very specific and are best sorted out with their vet, not with an off-the-shelf supplement.

There is, however, no upper limit. Older dogs are in fact the ones whose owners report the most change, especially in how comfortably they move.

Joint comfort and coat quality aren't built in three weeks: they need consistency, not intensity.

Some owners prefer three-month courses, in the autumn or after a spell of recovery. That works too, but the benefits fade once you stop.
